Seoul:
North Korea’s Defense Ministry called on South Korea and the United States to halt military drills, calling them a rehearsal for war and warning of the consequences, KCNA reported on Tuesday.
South Korean and U.S. militaries began annual spring drills on Monday, involving twice as many troops as last year, aimed at improving responses to North Korea’s evolving nuclear and missile threats.
KCNA said an unnamed spokesman for Pyongyang’s Ministry of National Defense said it strongly condemned the so-called “crazy and reckless” military exercises and urged them to stop.
