Rally address in PM Modi, Jharsuguda to visit Odisha on 27 September

Government officials said on Tuesday that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in the state for Odisha of Bhubaneswar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been revised in view of the forecast of adverse weather conditions in the state for Odisha.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that the Prime Minister, who was first scheduled to attend an event in Berhampur in Ganjam district, will now visit Odisha on 27 September and address a public meeting in Jharsuguda.

Changes in the site were a precautionary measure in view of heavy rainfall in parts of southern Odisha and predictions of IMD of adverse conditions.

Earlier, Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Thursday also indicated to move the venue in view of the low pressure area likely to be formed in the Bay of Bengal from the Odisha coast in the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Revenue Minister, a report was sent by the Odisha government to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), which recently proposed a new place for PM Modi’s program.

Following the PMO’s confirmation, the state government on Tuesday announced that the program will be held on 27 September in Jharsugud.

The Prime Minister was first scheduled to participate in the service Parv program and to inaugurate/dedicate several development projects to the country on 27 September.

In particular, projects include the capacity of eight IITs, doubling of Koraaput-Baguda and Manabar-Koraput-Gorapur railway lines and inauguration of Sambalpur-Sarla flyover.

The Prime Minister has also been prescribed to launch indigenously developed 4G network services of BSNL across India.

Prime Minister Modi is also ready to inaugurate a national skill development program for global-standard super-specialty institutes to announce the upgradation of MKCG and Wimsar Medical Colleges.

IMD Bhubaneswar earlier predicted that there is a possibility of becoming a fresh low pressure area on Thursday, far from the Odisha coast and around the Central Bay of Bengal.
