The 45-year-oldNeville Parker, who recently completed his tenure as Detective Inspector Neville Parker on the BBC crime series, will lead the cast on the show’s UK tour. The tour will kick off in March this year and will visit major cities including Newcastle, Glasgow, York, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

The original novel is set during the height of the Cold War and tells the story of a disillusioned British intelligence officer who carries out one last dangerous mission in Berlin.

As the first le Carré novel to be brought to theaters, this stage adaptation marks an important milestone. The play premiered to a sold-out run at the Chichester Festival Theater in 2024, before moving to London’s West End.

Little shared his longstanding connection to the story, revealing: “The first time I read The spy who came out of the cold When I was 16, it stayed with me. He praised David Eldridge’s “brilliant script,” noting how it took him into “unexpected twists and turns” and a “high-stakes cat-and-mouse game between East and West.”

Little also highlighted the play’s contemporary resonance, adding: “Although the play was written in the 1960s, it is incredibly relevant to the times we live in now. I can’t wait to share this story with audiences new and old as we take it to cities across the UK.”
