New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday appreciated the “silence of the Defense Accounts (DAD)” silent role “during Operation Sindoor on Wednesday, which ensured” skilled resource use, financial management and preparation for war “.
Speaking during Dad’s 278th Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi, the Defense Minister appreciated his historical heritage and its continuous role as the financial backbone of India’s armed forces.
He described Dad as an institution that “not only ensures fiscal discretion and transparency, but also strengthens operations by enabling timely availability of resources for services”.
“Dad is not just an accounting organization; it is a rehabilitation that ensures the smooth functioning of the country’s economic cycle. It is an invisible bridge that connects the finance and armed forces. Your silence behind the valor of our soldiers is your silence but decisive contribution,” said the Union Minister.
Appreciating Dad to embrace modern technology under the Digital India initiative, he highlighted the success of the e-Raka Avas project, upgradation of Niphi 1.0 from 1.0 to Raha 2.0, and infections in Tulip 2.0, which will increase proficiency in financial processes.
Accepting the increasing complexity of modern, technology-operated war, the Union Minister called for a fresh push to the defense R&D.
“In today’s war, new technologies have often been stunning elements. They are the results of the years of research and development. It makes us an innovative ecosystem compulsory that supports R&D in defense,” he highlighted.
Drawing attention to the government’s emphasis on jointness and integration between three-servants, he urged Dad to act as a financial promoter of this process.
“You are one of the few institutions that have attendance at the headquarters of the three services from the ground level. I ask you to work together with services and find out how you can carry forward jointness and integration through financial processes.
