Rabat, September 23 (IANS) Defense Minister Rajnath Singh discussed the steps to deepen partnerships in major areas including Defense, Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals with Moroccan trade minister Reid Maizaur on Tuesday.
In a statement on X, an official of the Ministry of Defense said, “Mr. Mejor warmly welcomed the Raksha Mantra and highlighted the importance of increasing industrial cooperation between the two countries, which is bound by long -standing friendship. Discussions focus on deepening partnerships in major areas, including defense, pharmaceutical and chemicals.”
The Defense Minister said that the Defense Minister is on an official visit to Morocco to further strengthen the growing strategic convergence between India and the North African nation.
The National Defense’s Moroccan minister Delegate, the journey at the invitation of Abdelif Laudia, symbolizes the first visit of the Indian Defense Minister in the North African nation.
On Monday, on the first day of his two -day visit, Rajnath Singh interacted with Indian migrant people in Rabat and praised his contribution in his host country and his motherland.
Taking into the social media platform X, Rajnath Singh shared his praise for the Indian community in Morocco: “Rabat was happy to interact with the Indian community. His hard work and dedication was appreciated which defines the Indian community around the world. It is fanning how they are contributing to Moroko’s progress and at the same time they are associated with their roots in India.”

A major attraction of the Defense Minister’s visit is the inauguration of the new manufacturing facility of the Tata Advanced Systems Maroc in Berechid, which will produce the wheel armored platform (WHAP) 8X8. It is the first Indian defense manufacturing plant in Africa to be an important milestone for India’s defense exports under the Autmanar Bhara Bharat initiative.
