New Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new labor reforms resonate loudly among workers in Rajasthan, private sector employees in Bharatpur have lauded the government’s initiative aimed at strengthening wage protection, health benefits and overall security for India’s workforce.

He says the new labor codes have sent a positive message across the country, especially to low-income and private sector workers.

Talking to IANS, private employee Shivram Singh said that the government’s decision will directly benefit about 40 crore employees across the country.

He said the reforms guarantee minimum wages, ensure timely payments and provide health and job security for people in the unorganized and private sectors.

According to Singh, the new provisions will act as a major shield against exploitation, especially for daily wage earners and workers dependent on private employment.

He said, “Earlier, many poor workers did not get proper wages or salaries on time. But now, with minimum wages fixed and monitored by the government, workers will get what they deserve and on time. This will help their families run smoothly.”

He further said that lakhs of employees in the private sector often struggle without proper documentation. Under the new rules, it has been made mandatory to issue appointment letter to every employee.

“This will ensure transparency and guarantee fair payment for the labor they do,” Singh said.

On health benefits, Singh highlighted the importance of the new ’40-plus health checkup’ provision, calling it a big relief for low-income families.

He pointed out that even basic medical tests often cost between Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 – an expense that many workers cannot afford. “Regular health checkups can detect diseases early and workers will be able to get timely treatment,” he said.

Yoga, another private employee, told IANS that the government has also ensured that overtime payments will now be made at double the rate, giving workers proper recognition for the extra hours.

“This step will strengthen the workers economically and increase the productivity and growth of the country,” he said.

Both the workers said that Prime Minister Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 is based on empowering its labor force.

He believes that the new labor reforms reflect the government’s commitment to improving the lives of workers and strengthening the economic foundation of the country.
