Jaipur, October 4 (IANS) In a significant success against organized crime and drug trafficking, the police on Saturday seized 790 grams of smack of Rs 1.6 crore in Jhalawar, Rajasthan and arrested four persons in a netrical planned operation.
Due to this operation, a car was recovered Rs 10 lakh in cash used for purchasing drugs along with a car used for transportation.
The special operation was led by Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar as part of the ongoing rift on illegal drugs under the NDPS Act.
It marks the seventh major operation in Jhalawar under Section 30 of the successful bust drugs and psychotropic substances (NDP) Act, which relates to conspiracy in trafficking of commercial amounts of drugs.
Similar works have been first done in Kamkheda, Jhalarapatan, DAG and Kotweli police station areas.
The latest action was jointly executed by Pidavara Police Station and District Special Team, under the direct supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Chiranji Lal Meena and CEO Sunil Kumar.
On Friday, patrolling on Banskade -Dabalbhoj route, police stopped a suspected white car.
On inspection, the authorities hid 790 grams of smack and Rs 10 lakh inside the vehicle.
Four suspects were arrested on the spot, including Mohammad Anees alias Bunty (38), Shadab Khan (27), Mohammad Mazhar (22) and Arish Khan (19).
All four accused are residents of Pidavara in Jhalawar district.
Initial inquiry revealed that the accused had purchased medicines from Alote in Madhya Pradesh and there were routes to Jaipur for distribution.
Investigations are on to highlight the entire limit of the smuggling network, identify additional partner and detect places of supply and consumption.
The operation was operated by Surendra Gurjar, in -charge of the district particular team, and Ramkaran, the station house officer of Pidwara police station.
Head Constable Niranjan (Pidavara Police Station) and Constable Rajesh (District Special Team) played an important role in the successful execution of the operation.
