Jaipur, Nov 4 (IANS) In the 2021 Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment paper leak case, the Rajasthan High Court has rejected the bail plea of five accused, including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s personal security officer (PSO) Rajkumar Yadav, while granting bail to nine others, including his son Bharat Yadav.

A single bench of Justice Chandraprakash Shrimali delivered the verdict on Tuesday after hearing the bail pleas of 14 accused linked to the high-profile case.

Rajkumar Yadav was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) on August 8 for procuring leaked exam papers for his son Bharat, who had passed the written exam but failed in the physical exam.

The court rejected the bail pleas of members and key operatives of the paper leak gang, including Vijay Kumar Damor, identified as a member of the gang; Praveen Kumar Kharadi accused of solving leaked paper; Satyendra Yadav; Trainee SI Sameeta Kumari; And Gehlot’s former PSO Rajkumar Yadav cited his active role in the conspiracy.

The court granted bail to Rahul Katara, relative of former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) member Babulal Katara, mediator Ravindra Singh, failed candidates Neha, Naitik and Riddhi Pandya, dummy candidates Ashok Singh and Radhika Singh and former PSO’s son Bharat Yadav.

One of the most notorious exam scams of Rajasthan, the SI paper leak case came to light in 2021 when the SOG unearthed a large network involved in selling leaked papers to candidates for huge sums of money.

The investigation revealed the involvement of middlemen, government employees and candidates, leading to several arrests and suspension of several officials.

This matter caused huge anger among the unemployed youth and raised serious questions on the transparency of the recruitment examinations conducted by RPSC.

The latest judgment of the High Court marks another significant development in the ongoing investigation, reflecting the judiciary’s tough stance against organized fraud rackets.

The SOG continues to investigate the widespread network behind the scam, which reportedly spans multiple districts of Rajasthan and involves both government employees and private individuals who benefited from the leak.
