A man honeytrapped by Pakistani agents was arrested in Rajasthan’s Bikaner on Tuesday for sharing sensitive military information, an official said.
This joint operation was conducted by Military Intelligence and Rajasthan Police Intelligence.
Additional Director General of Police Intelligence Sanjay Aggarwal said that Vikram Singh (31), resident of Bas village of Lakhasar area of Dungargarh tehsil, has been arrested for his involvement in espionage activities.
Singh was reportedly in constant touch with Pakistani covert operators through social media channels. ADG Aggarwal said that the intelligence team in Jaipur kept a close watch on Singh’s activities and found that he was honeytrapped by a female Pakistani agent, Anita, through social media for about a year.
The ADG said the accused, who is running a canteen in the military area of Mahajan in Bikaner, was allegedly sharing sensitive information such as photographs, locations of restricted areas, videos and strategic military information about units and officers to Pakistani agents. Was. ,
A case has been registered against the accused under the Official Secrets Act, 1923 and investigation is underway, an official said.
