Jaipur, Nov 12 (IANS) The Central Jail at Shailawas in Dausa came alive with patriotic fervor on Wednesday as inmates and jail staff came together to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the iconic song Vande Mataram.

In a remarkable display of unity and devotion, around 400 prisoners and officers formed a massive human chain across the prison premises chanting the words “Vande Mataram” – a wonderful symbol of national pride and collective spirit.

The program began with the prisoners hoisting the tricolor and raising patriotic slogans, creating an atmosphere full of emotion and reverence for the country.

Jail Superintendent Paras Jangid said the festival represents not only patriotism but also the values of unity, integrity and reform.

He stressed, “Worship of Mother India should not be limited to words alone – it should be reflected in our actions.” Superintendent Jangid further said that the primary objective of the event was to instill a sense of national pride and purpose among the prisoners.

He said that such initiatives serve as a powerful medium for reformation and rehabilitation, guiding the prisoners towards positive change and re-integration into the society.

The efforts of prisoners Sandeep Aggarwal, Vikas Sharma and Deendayal, who played key roles in forming the human chain, were especially appreciated.

The event concluded with a collective singing of Vande Mataram, as the entire jail complex erupted in patriotic chants – turning the moment into a vibrant tribute to the song that has inspired generations.

Jailer Vikas Bagoria, Deputy Jailor Dilawar Khan and officers including Platoon Commander Manish Kumar were present along with the prisoners to celebrate this remarkable event of unity and national pride.
