Rajasthan: Constant decline in crime in the last two years, police claim

Jaipur, October 1 (IANS) The state of Rajasthan has seen a steady decline in crime rates in the last two years, in which the transparent and accountable approach of the Rajasthan Police has highlighted the effectiveness of law enforcement and grievance redressal, saying the officials.

The data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) includes figures of the years 2021, 2022 and 2023. However, compared to these statistics, during 2024 and 2025, Rajasthan has seen a marked decrease in major categories of crime, officials said.

According to comparative data in 2023 vs. 2024, crime against women declined in 45,450 to 36,563 cases, crime against Scheduled Tribes decreased from 8,449 to 7,008 cases and crime against Scheduled Castes fell from 2,453 to 2,282 cases.

Economic crimes decreased from 27,675 to 27,637 cases, confirmed police headquarters officials. In addition, the total IPC/BNS registered cases were reduced from 234,985 to 213,352 cases.

Overall, it shows a 19.45 percent decrease in total crime in the state in the last two years.

Crimes against women have fallen by 9.24 percent, which shows the commitment of Rajasthan Police for the safety of women through better response mechanisms, community policing and early investigation processes.

This trend reinforces public belief in the system and shows the impact of active government and police initiatives.

The state police policy of independent, fair and transparent registration of crimes has played an important role in accurate reporting and timely resolution.

The use of technology, increase in monitoring, and continuous monitoring has further strengthened crime control efforts. The Rajasthan Police continues to work with dedication under the guidance of the state government, focusing on a person-centric policing model that prefer the safety and rights of all citizens, especially women and weaker communities.
