Jaipur, Nov 17 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday said that under the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the state has made rapid progress in the last two years in strengthening all essential services – law and order, health, education, electricity, drinking water, infrastructure and cooperative societies.

He said that through the Northern Regional Council, all the states will work together towards achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Addressing the 32nd meeting of the Northern Territorial Council in Faridabad chaired by Amit Shah on Monday, the Rajasthan Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for expanding the Bhakra Beas Management Board from two to four full-time members – a significant step that has greatly benefited Rajasthan.

He urged the Center to approve three important measures: creating a digital elevation model of the downstream Sutlej and Beas to raise the Pong dam to a capacity of 1,400 feet, allocating surplus water from the Makora Pattan barrage under construction in line with the 1981 agreement, and sharing power generated by small hydroelectric plants in Punjab on the Bhakra Main Line.

Sharma said that the government is providing daytime electricity in 22 districts in line with its commitment to supply daytime electricity to farmers. Rajasthan ranks first in the country in installed solar power generation capacity.

Under components A and C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, decentralized solar plants with a capacity of 2,215 MW have been installed. He said that under RDSS, 151 new 33 KV substations have been completed and 1.1 million smart meters have been installed.

Sharma also said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen law and order and with the increase in police mobile units the average response time has come down from 21 minutes to about 13 minutes.

The average time for disposal of POCSO Act cases has reduced to 58 days and that of rape cases to 48 days.

He urged the Central Government to approve 15 new fast-track special courts for speedy disposal of POCSO cases.

Under the AMRUT scheme, GIS-based master plans have been prepared for 28 cities with a population of more than 100,000.

GIS-based master plans are also underway for 62 additional cities with populations between 50,000 and 100,000.

Sharma further said that 88 percent of the population of Rajasthan is covered under health insurance, which is the highest in the country.

Under the Mukhyamantri Amrit Aahar Yojana, children aged 3-6 years get milk five days a week at Anganwadi centres.

Enhanced benefits under PM Matru Vandana Yojana, free monthly sonography for pregnant women under Maa Voucher Scheme and assistance to 550,000 girls under Laado Protsahan Yojana are helping to ensure comprehensive development of women.

He highlighted that under the leadership of HM Shah, Rajasthan has achieved the first position in India in obtaining membership of the Indian Seed Cooperative Society.

Under the world’s largest food storage scheme, the state has completed construction of 70 warehouses (each 500 metric tonne capacity) in the first phase – a national record.

Additionally, names of 2.7 million individuals were removed for failing to complete e-KYC. As a result, 7 million genuine beneficiaries are now getting the benefits.

For environment protection, the state has given 122 Stage-1 clearances under the Parivartan 2.0 portal in the last two years, and 137 clearances in 2025 alone.
