New Delhi:
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Agra today. Several pictures highlighting the cordiality between the two leaders were shared on their and their parties’ social media handles, but one picture grabbed the most headlines: a selfie of Mr Yadav and Mr Gandhi.
The picture was shared on the Congress’s official X handle using only two emojis, two of which describe the image, a camera and a selfie.

In the photo, the leaders are seen posing together on top of a red jeep.
Congress and Samajwadi Party workers raised slogans in support of Mr Yadav and Mr Gandhi and the two leaders, along with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, waved to the crowd gathered for the yatra.
The development ended days of uncertainty over Akhilesh Yadav’s participation in the yatra and came as a boost for the Bharat Bloc, which recently sealed a crucial seat-sharing agreement between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress in Uttar Pradesh. Finalized.
After the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister joined the yatra, the Congress said India is off “Janbandhan” and is ready to overcome the “darkness of eternity”.
Following the lead in UP, the Congress and Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party or AAP reached a seat-sharing agreement for Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, Goa, Gujarat and Haryana. However, AAP has decided to contest the elections separately in Punjab in view of the “special circumstances” of the state.
However, the troubles are not over for the Congress as the India Bloc still has to work out a seat-sharing deal in key states like West Bengal and Maharashtra.
