Gandhi raised this issue during Zero Hour. He said that this issue can be discussed in an interesting manner, where the opposition and the government will not abuse each other, but will find a solution to the problem.
Gandhi said, “This is not an ideological issue. Everyone in this House will agree that we would like to cooperate on air pollution, which is harming our people.”
He said that after this the Prime Minister can make a plan to deal with the issue of air pollution.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the government is ready to discuss the issue and the Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha can allocate time for it.
Gandhi said, “Most of our major cities are living under a blanket of poisonous air. Millions of children are suffering from lung disease. Their future is being destroyed. People are getting cancer. Old people are struggling to breathe.”
