Rahul Gandhi accused the governor of misusing the governor to prevent the voices of the states, interrupted the elected government

Emphasizing that India’s strength lies in its diversity, the leader of the leader (LOP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused the BJP -led NDA government of stopping the “Governor” Governor of stopping the voices of the states and obstructing the elected governments.

In a post on X, Gandhi launched a dangerous attack on federalism and should be opposed.

“India’s strength lies in its diversity – a union of states, each with its voice. The Modi government is misusing the governors to stop those voices and disrupt elected state governments,” Gandhi said on X, while repeating the post of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

“This is a dangerous attack on federalism and should be opposed,” he said.

The Congress leaders were reacting on 15 May to post on X by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Stalin condemned the context of the President of the Union Government “strongly”, which, according to him, tries to end the constitutional situation already settled by the Supreme Court in the case of the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu CM said, “This effort clearly reveals the fact that the Governor of Tamil Nadu worked to reduce the mandate of the people at the behest of the BJP.”

He further said that this is nothing, but is a frustrated attempt to weaken the democratically elected state governments under the control of governors serving as agents of the Union Government. He said, “It directly challenges the glory of law and the right of the Supreme Court as the last interpreter of the Constitution,” he said.

“Why should there be any objection to setting up the deadline for the governors to work for the governors? Is the BJP demanding an indefinite delay in the bill to legalize the obstruction of its governors? Does the Central Government intend to paralyze the Non-BJP State Legislature?” Tamil Nadu CM questioned.

“Our nation stands at a critical point. The conversion raised in the context shows the terrible intentions of the BJP -led Union Government that to distort the basic distribution of the Constitution to distort the original distribution of powers and influence the state assemblies dominated by opposition parties. Thus, this state is a clear threat to autonomy,” said the DMK chief.

He further urged all non-BJP states and party leaders to join this legal struggle to protect the constitution.

Subsequently, in a firm refutation for the Supreme Court’s 8 April verdict, which set a time limit on the Governor and the President to decide on the state bills in the Tamil Nadu Government vs. Governor case, President Draupadi Murmu questioned the validity of such ruling ruling, there is no constitution for any time.
