Raghav Chadha meets Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Navratri expands the greeting

New Delhi, 22 September (IANS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha called Vice President CP Radhakrishnan on Monday and gave him hot wishes on the auspicious occasions of Navratri.

The MP congratulated the newly elected vice -president on holding a high position and gave his best wishes. This was Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha’s first meeting with the 15th Vice President of India, who serves as the chairman of the former Rajya Sabha officer.

Raghav Chadha also handed over a replica of the Golden Temple to the newly elected vice -president. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Radhakrishnan as the President of Rajya Sabha, the upper house would continue to maintain the highest standards of democratic ideas and inclusion.

During the meeting, the Rajya Sabha MP also discussed the upper house, the smooth and productive functioning of important national affairs, and briefly exposed the major issues related to the state of Punjab.

In particular, Punjab had recently been hit by rain-trigger floods, flooding many cities and surrounded by water. The flood caused widespread damage to villages and fields in Punjab, while thousands of people were displaced. At least 30 people lost their lives in disastrous floods.

While Punjab fought with one of the worst floods, the AAP MP came forward to offer solitude to the affected population and offered Rs 3.25 crore from its MPLADS funds for the flood-free areas of Punjab, including Gurdaspur and Amritsar.

While allocating Rs 3.25 crore, he said that Rs 2.75 crore will go towards strengthening and repairing flood conservation embankments in Gurdaspur, while Rs 50 lakh will be spent on relief and rehabilitation work in Amritsar.
