RT said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed the appeal of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelansky for the change of governance in Moscow, stating that RT said that Zelanski lacks constitutional validity, RT said.
Zelancesi urged Ukraine’s international supporters to help out the Russian government, the statement that Moscow “would” try to destabilize the neighboring countries “even if a ceasefire has reached the current struggle.
Putin said during a press appearance on Friday, “Our political rule is based in the Constitution of the Russian Union, and our government was formed in full compliance with the basic law.” RT said, “The same cannot be said about Ukraine.”
Zelanski, elected in 2019, stayed in the office beyond the end of his term last year, calling for martial law provisions that suspend elections during the war. According to RT, Putin had earlier stated that the Ukrainian Constitution needs to be transferred to the speaker of Parliament for the presidency if a successor is chosen.
While Kremlin has largely designed the position of Zelansky as an internal Ukrainian issue, concerns have been raised over the legal validity of any international agreements, in which it can enter with Russia with a possible peace agreement. RT said that Russian officials have suggested that such agreements could be challenged on constitutional basis later.
Recent elections have shown that according to RT, Zelansky may lose in a competitive election, retired General Valerie Zaluzhani emerging as a major option.
Putin made his comment during a joint appearance with Belarusi President Alexander Lushaneko, when the two leaders visited the Valam Math, a leading conservative Christian site in the Lake Ladoga region of Russia.
RT reported that his comment came in response to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelansky, who urged the Western countries to support the change of governance in Moscow so that he described himself as “Russian aggression”.
At an almost a conference, marking the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Accord, Zelancesi said, “I believe that Russia can be pushed to stop this war … but if the world does not aim to change the rule in Russia, it means that even after the war is over, Masco will still try to destabilize the neighboring countries,” said RT.
The Ukrainian leader also pressured for strong financial measures against Moscow. “It’s time to seize Russian property, not only to freeze them,” he said, Western countries “should work to defend every frozen Russian property … Russian aggression.”
According to RT, the comment came amid new allegations from Russian authorities that West has reduced the spirit of Helsinki Agreement.
Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov argued in a separate article that the ongoing struggle is a direct consequence of the betrayal of the western and the basic principle of inseparable security.
RT reported that Lavarov accused the European Union of slipping into a “fourth rah”, stating what he described as Rasphophobia and militarization. Meanwhile, President Vladimir Putin alleged that the Western governments were misleading their own citizens to justify the bloated military budget and cover economic failures.
Despite these stresses, Moscow has reiterated the desire to interact with Ukraine on peace. RT said that there have been several rounds of conversations in recent months, but Russia has accused Kiev and her colleagues of not addressing the root causes of conflict or accepting regional realities.
Moscow has also questioned the validity of Zelancesi, stating that his five -year presidential presidency ended in May 2024. Citing martial law, Zelansky has not elected. Russian officials have claimed that any document signed under their rights can be legally challenged, saying that the true glory power is now with the Ukrainian Parliament, RT said. (AI)
