Moscow:
Alexei Navalny’s mother Lyudmila accused Russian investigators on Thursday of planning a “secret” funeral for her son and said she would not have agreed to it.
“They wanted it to be done secretly, without saying goodbye. They wanted to take me to the edge of the cemetery, to a new grave, and say: here lies your son. I did not consent to that,” she said in a statement Zhong said. YouTube videos.
There was no immediate response from Russian investigators.
Navalny, 47, Russia’s most prominent opposition politician, died suddenly last week in an Arctic penal colony. His team and family claim the Kremlin murdered him, a charge the Kremlin angrily denies.
His mother said she had seen his body and death certificate. Navalny’s team said the death certificate showed the opposition politician died of natural causes.
