Chandigarh, October 6 (IANS) Election Commission of India on Monday announced a degree for the Lone Taran Taran Assembly of Punjab, which will be held on November 14 with the vote count on 14 November.
The death of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal required Bipol, who defeated Harmeet Singh Sandhu of Shiromani Akali Dal and won the seat with 52,935 votes.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state’s decision AAP has declared Turnkot Hormet Sandhu as its candidate, while the main opposition Congress has fielded the ground -level leader Karanbir Singh Burj.
The shiromani akali dal (sad) LED by sukhbir badal has fielded sukhwinder kaur randhawa, whil the BJP has chown harjit singh sandhu as its candidate.
Akali Dal (Waris Punjab D), Jail Khadur Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, who holds a lot of vote bank in the party constituency, has not yet been announced.
In 2007, Harjeet Sandhu of BJP, a farmer and owner of brick-cylns, launched his political journey with the young Akali Dal. He served as the chairman of the circle from 2009 to 2012, then as District General Secretary from 2015, and later as the state president of the young Akali Dal.
In 2022, after differences with the Akali leadership, Sandhu formally joined the BJP. The Panthik Garh, Taran Taran, has traditionally given very little support to the BJP.
In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, party candidate, Ninth Singh Hundal secured only 1,176 votes from the constituency. Three -time MLA Akali Dal rebel Sandhu, later joined the AAP and now it is a candidate.
Sad, led by Sukhbir Badal, has fielded Randhawa of Azad Group, which recently merged with the party. The Akali Dal’s break -up faction under the leadership of Jiyani Harpreet Singh is yet to decide about his candidate.
BJP leaders expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, stating that the cadre has become stronger over the years and expects a good performance from the party’s candidate Sandhu.
However, Congress candidate Burj is a farmer and reaultar by profession and works as the vice -president of the District Congress and also works in the party’s farmers cell. He believes that the opposition Bhag Singh is a close aide of the leader of Bajwa.
