Punjab Minister says that the center ‘fraudulent’ center ‘in handling the demand for special flood package

Chandigarh, October 1 (IANS) Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora on Wednesday launched a scary attack on the BJP-led central government for his “anti-Punjab attitude” and a special flood relief package for a “deception” for the state demand for “deception”.

Arora told the media here that the way the Center and Press Information Bureau (PIB) presented misleading figures after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, was no less than the betrayal of Punjab and its people.

“Once again, the BJP government’s anti-Punjab and anti-Punjabi face has been exposed,” he said.

He said that after the destructive floods in the state, CM Mann met Amit Shah on Tuesday and a special package of Rs 13,800 crore for relief and rehabilitation from Punjab floods, a special package for relaxation in SDRF and NDRF rules, and due to crop, and due to special views and relaxation, which caused special package for crop due to heavy rains, which kept a special package for crop due to heavy rains.

“During the meeting, Shah assured Punjab that when the Center was needed and when anything would be helped. But a few hours later, the PIB issued a press release, exposing the truth: Instead of approving Punjab’s demands, the Center tried to mislead to show that 12,590 crore is already available under SDRF.”

“Even though the Punjab government had to fully use these funds as per the rigorous criteria of the Center, even Rs 1,200 crore cannot be issued. Punjab has lost thousands of crores of losses, including crops, houses, hospitals and roads destroyed in 5 lakh acres. SDRF will be sufficient?” He asked.

He further stated that CM Mann wrote to the Center on 31 August, demanding a fair amendment in SDRF criteria, such as death compensation increased from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, disability compensation up to Rs 1.5 lakh, and house damage from Rs 6,500 to Rs 6,500 from Rs 6,500 from Rs 6,500.

“Tell me, in today’s time, can a family rebuild their house with Rs 6,500? The state government demanded amendment. Is this wrong? Is it wrong for our people to ask for justice?” Arora asked.

Sangering the “misleading propaganda” around the package of Rs 1,600 crore declared by the Prime Minister, Arora said: “Of this, not Rs 805 crore is new, which was already approved by NHAI, Rs 170 crore, and other quantity is like PM Avsay Advance. Flood, has been shown incorrectly as part of this package.
