Srinagar, September 27, KDC: The administration of the central region of Ladakh has constituted advisory boards under the three major preventive prevention and regulatory laws, ie Public Safety Act (PSA), drugs and psychotropic materials, prevention of illegal traffic in drugs and psychotropic materials and advisory boards under the prevention of supply and maintenance of essential commodities.
According to a notification (then 112) issued by the Home Department on 25 September 2025, the advisory boards have been formally established, with the approval of the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
According to Kashmir.com, the order appoints Justice MK Hanjura (retired), a former Judge of Justice and Kashmir and Ladakh’s High Court. Principal District and Sessions Judge Leh, Manoj Parihar, and Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil, Spellies Angmo have been appointed as members.
The notification states that the terms and conditions that control the functioning of the chairperson and the members will be issued separately.
This step comes under the backdrop of increased law and order concerns in Ladakh after recent unrest in Leh Town. The newly constituted advisory boards will provide statutory monitoring on prevention and preventive measures under PSA and related laws. (KDC)
