New Delhi, 3 October (IANS) Congress General Secretary and Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad in Kerala, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Friday that some of the pending railway works in Nilambur have been completed after reviewing the station at the station last month.
Sharing the latest development, Gandhi wrote on social media, “My meeting with railway officials and works were reviewed last week at Nilambur railway station. To find out that some pending works have been completed.”
It was during his visit to Nilambur last month that the Congress MP met the railway officials to assess the status of the ongoing and pending projects.
The review has focused on improving passenger facilities, infrastructure of stations and pending upgrades that have been waiting for local passengers for some time.
The Nilambur-Sharanur line, of which Nilambur is the terminus, plays an important role in connecting people with its constituency spread over some districts along the rest of Kerala.
For residents, increased features and railway projects are seen as important to make the journey easier and improve local connectivity.
Gandhi’s talks with railway officials are part of his widespread effort to monitor development works in his constituency.
Since assuming charge as MP, he has constantly underlined the requirement of accountability and timely distribution of infrastructure projects that directly benefit people on the ground.
By actively attaching and providing updates with agencies, the Wayanad MP has demanded a priorities of development in the center of his constituency, with clear attention to transport and connectivity.
Incidentally, during the election campaign, the CPI-M took away and the BJP targeted him, saying that, like his brother Rahul, a word, which was a Wayanad MP, would be like a ‘tourist MP’, but has proved his critics wrong, as he has visited his constituency several times.
