Union Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday accused the Congress of imposing vote-bank politics on national security and made fun of him for his absence in the Parliament session.
Addressing the Rajya Sabha, the minister said that the whole country was witness to how the priority of the Congress party was not to end national security and terrorism, but vote for banks and appeasement politics.
“Yesterday, you (Congress) kept asking why Pahalgam terrorists were killed? Shah said during the session.
Appreciating the Narendra Modi government, Shah assured that the state of Jammu and Kashmir would be freed from terrorism.
“Under Operation Mahadev, we recognized the terrorists involved in the initiative attack. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I assure that Jammu and Kashmir will be freed from terrorism …” said the Union Minister.
Shah further said that India’s attack left Pakistan in a state to not fight back, further said that India destroyed terrorist camps, terror launching pads and their training camps.
“We attacked him (Pakistan) terrorist camps, pads launching terror and terrorist training camps, but he (Pakistan) considered it an attack on his country as an attack. As a response, as a response, on 8 May, Pakistan attacked residential areas and defense installations in India. Followsen attacked on 9 May.
Referring to the recent comments of Congress leader and former Home Minister Ih Eh Apa regime, Shah said, “Chidambaram demanded my resignation and interrogated Operation Sindoor. He repeatedly challenged the evidence that was involved in the Pahgam attack, Pakistani terrorists.”
“Today, I want to ask him what he was trying to save?
“Are you not ashamed of this?” Shah asked, “But by the grace of God, the day he raised these questions, all three terrorists were killed.”
Chidambaram, who served as Home Minister during the UPA tenure, recently said in an interview with a news outlet that the government was not prepared to disclose what the NIA has done in all these weeks. Has they identified the terrorists from where they are guilty? I mean they all know.
Opposition members made a walkout on their demand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi responds to the debate in the House. The debate in the Rajya Sabha began on Tuesday. (AI)
