Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to be at an impasse over a major life decision.

According to royal writer Tom Quinn, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex resigned from royal duties in 2020 and are currently unable to make concrete plans for their return to the UK.

The author tells Mirror Given the Sussexes’ inability to see eye to eye, this is going to be a source of huge strain on their marriage.

Quinn told the outlet: “Meghan has been very adamant that she will never return to the UK, so it is unlikely that she will accompany Harry.”

“Although he wanted her to come with him for moral support – this was one of the main areas of tension between the couple.”

Prince Harry, who lives with Meghan and their two children in his Montecito mansion, reportedly plans to move back to his home country, especially after his father, King Charles, was diagnosed with cancer.

The duke often returns to the UK for work and court proceedings, but Meghan has never accompanied him on his travels.

According to royal author Omid Scobie, she “never wants to set foot in the UK again”.

Meghan’s last visit to the UK was in September 2022 to attend the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth.

Prince Harry is due to return to the UK in May, and it remains to be seen whether he can convince Meghan to undertake at least a transatlantic trip.
