Prince Edward recognized as ‘leading figure’ of company after King Charles abdicates

Prince Edward has been named as the “leading light” of the royal family following King Charles and Kate Middleton’s current health crisis.

according to telegraphThe Duke of Edinburgh “may now become an even more central figure in the life of the nation” due to his additional role in the current royal turmoil.

King Charles retired from public duties in early February after revealing his cancer diagnosis to the public. His son and heir to the throne Prince William followed suit, offering support to the Princess of Wales as she faced a health crisis.

Although Edward was heavily criticized for abandoning his Royal Marines training in the early 1980s to pursue his passion for an acting career, he soon regained British recognition for his unbridled devotion to the royal family.
