Ms Giuffre said she “got more” from Andrew than the $12 million payment and two million dollar donation to his charity because he had “an acknowledgment that I and many other women were victimized and he made a tacit pledge never to deny it again”.

The former duke paid millions to settle a civil sexual assault case with Ms Giuffre in 2022, despite insisting he never met her.
His 2019 Newsnight interview, in which he hoped to clear his name, backfired when he said he “does not regret” his friendship with Epstein, the convicted pedophile who trafficked Ms Giuffre.
He was heavily criticized for failing to show empathy towards victims of sex offenders.
Andrew also said he had “no memory” of ever meeting Ms Giuffre and said he could not have had sex with her in March 2001 because he was at Pizza Express with his daughter Beatrice that day.
Ms Giuffre alleged, which Andrew vehemently rejected, that she was forced to have sex with the prince on three occasions after being trafficked by Epstein, including when she was 17.
Queen Elizabeth II was celebrating her platinum jubilee in 2022 – the first British monarch to reach this milestone – as the civil case against her son gathered momentum. This was decided just nine days after he reached the 70th anniversary of his coronation.

Ms Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, revealed in her book: “I agreed to a one-year gag order, which was important to the Prince because it ensured his mother’s platinum jubilee would be no worse than it already was.”
In January 2022, a US judge ruled that the civil case against Andrew could proceed, and the Queen stripped him of his honorary military roles, with the prince also giving up his HRH style.
In February of that year, court documents revealed that Andrew and Ms Giuffre had reached an “agreement in principle” in the civil sex claim.
Andrew made a “substantial donation to Ms Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights”, and pledged to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by “fighting against the evils of sex trafficking and supporting its victims”, legal papers revealed.

The agreement averted a public trial, sparing the monarchy the controversy of an intense investigation into Ms Giuffre’s claims in a year when the queen was preparing to attend an extended June weekend of jubilee celebrations.
The queen’s alleged favorite son remained behind closed doors for the jubilee and missed the church service, having announced a day earlier that he had Covid.
In her book, Nobody’s Girl, Ms Giuffre described how Andrew had “stonewalled” her legal team for months, before settlement discussions began moving quickly when her testimony was scheduled for March 2022.
Ms Giuffre also wrote that when Andrew was photographed walking with Epstein in New York in 2011, she was “revolted” by the sight of “two of my abusers together” and was “astounded” that a member of the royal family would be “so stupid” to appear in public with a convicted pedophile.
