The hospitalization of Rajinikanth, one of India’s biggest movie stars, is a bit worrying news for movie fans. Rajinikanth was admitted to the hospital late on Monday night. It was revealed that Rajinikanth has been admitted to the hospital for elective surgery.
Now Prime Minister Modi has inquired about Rajinikanth’s health over the phone. Tamil Nadu BJP leader K. Annamalai shared this information on social media platform X.

Annamalai shared an old photo of Rajinikanth and wife Lata with Prime Minister Modi on social media. “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone call with Mrs. Lata Rajinikanth and discussed the health condition of our superstar Rajinikanth Ji,” he wrote in the post. The Honorable Prime Minister was apprised of Rajinikanth’s health condition post-surgery and wished him a speedy recovery.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Rajinikanth’s colleague in the Tamil industry, veteran star Kamal Haasan, also wished X good health and speedy recovery. Vijay Joseph, one of the biggest stars of the industry, also wrote a post for Rajinikanth in Tamil and said, “I pray to God to bless superstar Rajini who is in hospital “Kante makes a full recovery. I pray he recovers soon and comes home.”
Why was Rajinikanth hospitalized?
Apollo Hospitals in Chennai issued a medical advisory regarding Rajinikanth’s health condition. It is understood that “Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals at Greams Road on September 30, 2024. He was suffering from inflammation of the major blood vessels leading to the heart and was treated non-surgically through transcatheter. Dr. Satish via A stent was placed in Iota to completely seal the swelling. We would like to inform his well-wishers and fans that the surgery went on as planned and he will be home in two days.
Talking about Rajinikanth’s work front, he is all set to release his next film soon. Her film Vettaiyaan will hit theaters on October 10 and will also star Amitabh Bachchan.
