Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish President Pedro Sánchez on Monday expressed deep concern over the current security situation in West Asia. Meanwhile, the massive loss of civilian life and humanitarian crisis in Gaza has been described as unacceptable.

Prime Minister Modi and President Sanchez also agreed that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza should be ended as soon as possible. The two leaders issued a joint statement after holding a delegation-level meeting at the Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi and Sanchez discussed defense and economic cooperation during bilateral talks. The need for cultural and people-to-people relations was also emphasized.

The two countries have laid the foundation for a new era of mutual cooperation.

The Tata Aircraft Manufacturing Plant in Vadodara is India’s first private unit to manufacture military aircraft, and the C295 aircraft will be produced here. He expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations since Prime Minister Modi visited Spain in 2017. He also instructed the team to advance the bilateral agenda and strengthen cooperation in politics, economy, security, defense and other fields.

Condemns terrorist attacks against Israel

The joint statement said that Prime Minister Modi and President Sanchez emphasized that the basis of the evolving partnership lies in a shared commitment to democracy, freedom, the rule of law, a fair global economy and a rules-based international order.
