Kelowna – Prime Minister Mark Carney is scheduled to be held in Kelona, BC on Tuesday for an announcement in a lumber facility on Tuesday after attending the Vancouver Pride Parade before visiting the Vanadian forces on Vancouver Island on Vancouver Island on Monday.
Carney along with Canadian Navy officials visited the Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test range facility near Nanoz Bay outside Nanymo.
He visited the Royal Canadian Navy Vessel Alexni with a testing facility with Navy Commander Vice-Admiral Angus Topsee and Commanding Officer Craig Piccolo.
Carney met BC Premier David AB and Vancouver Fraser Port Authority officials on Sunday, but the meeting with the premiere closed for reporters.
Carney also created a surprising appearance at the Pride Parade in Vancouver city, where he was congratulated by cheers from the crowds rolling the parade route.
The Prime Minister’s visit to the province comes amid fresh tension in the softwood lumbar dispute with the US, which has placed anti-dumping duties on softwood lumbar products, condemned by the BC Council of Forest Industries as “unjust and punitive trade works”.
