President Trump has been talking a lot about how the revenue from tariffs could eventually be cut, drastically cut, or even eliminate the income tax altogether…
He keeps saying this to get everyone used to the idea that it is not only possible but probable!
Now today they reaffirmed that we are absolutely on track to do so.
See here:
Of course this is not going to happen overnight…
We are only 10 months into his presidency, and he is fighting Congress and the court system that are opposing him at every turn, but keep in mind that I believe that through sheer tyranny of will, President Trump will shock the world and do so.
Plus, we’ll make progress going forward, starting with a massive tax cut for most Americans in 2026, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, and much more!
It’s coming!

What would you think about zero income tax and only a simple flat consumption tax?
Not a bad idea!
Are you ready for zero income tax and simple flat consumption tax?

Pay tax only if you want to spend more and buy more.
There is no tax on earnings, no tax on savings, only tax on spending.
I like that concept.

WATCH: President Trump again says tariffs could replace the federal income tax!
I keep telling you guys, I think Trump will get his way and I think he will, the federal income tax is going away!
He is clearly telling you that it is not only possible, but it has been done before.
And it’s about to be done again.
Can you imagine how much this country would boom if the federal income tax were eliminated?
Even if it were changed to a tariff plus national sales tax, it would be a tremendous victory.
For all those people who hate the “rich”, just implement a uniform national sales tax and exclude necessities like food, medicine, and rent, and you’ll have the perfect system!
If someone is “rich” and wants to spend more on luxury items, so be it!
For everyone else, there will be no tax on necessities and only what you choose to spend thereafter.
Very fair.
Anyway, check out this clip where President Trump tells you it’s coming:

Transcript:
You’re talking about how historic these tariffs have been, bringing revenue, additional revenue to our country.
You also mentioned that they could potentially replace the federal income tax. Possibly. Do you think, do you think it’s true?
Someday it’s possible. it used to be. So if you go back, uh, 1913 is when they ended the tariff, we were the richest we’ve been since 1850.
It was all tariffs, we had no income tax from 1850 to 1913.
Uh, in the 1887s, about 1887, they had the great National Tariff Act, and it was a group of people who got together because our country was so rich that they didn’t know what to do with the money.
We had so much money they didn’t know what to do with.
It was a group of, oh, very prominent people that was set up to distribute money to everyone because we were the richest ever.
Proportionally we were in 1887, around the same time, even in 1913, uh, we eliminated them in 1913. How did this work?
And then we went into the income tax system, and then we had the recession.
And by the way, a lot of people try and say, “Oh, tariffs with depres-” No.
They ended in 1913 and then we went into the income tax and then in 1929 you had the Depression.
They tried to bring it back in 1931/’32 but the Depression had already set in and, uh, and this poor beautiful country was gone.
He was gone.
We suffered for 25 years, it took 25, 30 years to really recover from the recession.
Uh, and we never want to see that happen again.
Uh, tariffs are critical to the success of this country.
When I say I ended 7 wars, at least half of them ended because of the power of the tariff.
But did you catch the bold part?
Did you notice that the tariffs ended and the federal income tax was enacted in the same year – 1913?
Don’t you think this is quite a coincidence?
Friends, these people hate America.
The enemy is not without, the enemy is within, and they have been trying to crush Americans since at least 1913.
Check out these historical facts:
The federal income tax was first implemented in the United States 1913 After the ratification of 16th amendmentFor the Constitution.
Here is the timeline:
1861 – During the Civil War, Congress created a temporary income tax to raise revenue, but it was repealed in 1872.
1894 – Congress passed another income tax, but the Supreme Court struck it down in 1895 (Pollock v. Farmers Loan and Trust Company), ruling it unconstitutional because it was a “direct tax” that was not divided among the states.
1913 – The 16th amendment It was ratified, clearly giving Congress the power to impose an income tax without dividing it among the states. Later that year, Congress passed Revenue Act of 1913Officially implementing the modern federal income tax.
Before 1913: Tariffs and Excise
For most of American history before 1913, The federal government was funded almost entirely by tariffs (import duties) and excise taxes. On things like alcohol and tobacco.
The income tax was seen as radical, and the tariff was defended as both a revenue raiser and protection for American industry.
changes in 1913
why did it happen together
The tariffs were criticized for raising prices on consumers and favoring large corporations. Progressives argued that this was an unfair, regressive way to fund the government.
The income tax was seen as “fair”, as it directly targeted wealthy individuals.
Therefore, when Congress reduced tariffs (thus reducing government revenues), they required new stable revenue source-Income tax came as a replacement.
broader context
1913 marked this change Fundamental restructuring of US government finances,
From that point on, income taxes became the primary source of federal revenue, while tariffs became secondary.
So it wasn’t just a “weird coincidence” – the income tax introduced Because Tariffs were cutOne was designed to replace the other,
