New Delhi/Bhopal, October 17 (IANS) President Draupadi Murmu on Friday congratulated Madhya Pradesh for the successful implementation of the Centre’s nationwide program ‘Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan’.
Gulshan Bamra, Principal Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department, Madhya Pradesh, received the honor from the state for his excellent performance in the National Conference organized on ‘Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Friday.
It is noteworthy that the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan – an ambitious national campaign – aims to create 20 lakh grassroots leaders or ‘Adi Karmayogis’ to deliver essential services and welfare benefits to approximately 10 crore tribal citizens across India.
While giving an overview of tribal development in Madhya Pradesh, Gulshan Bamra said that 1.41 lakh Adi Sahayyaks, 1.92 lakh Adi Saathi and 1,210 NGOs are working under the campaign.
The objective of the campaign is to develop leadership at the village level in tribal areas, ensure effective implementation of government schemes and make governance more accountable.
“The target is to create three lakh change leaders who will assist in the implementation of tribal development schemes at the grassroots level. More than 13,000 Aadi Seva Kendras have been set up to assist tribal people,” Bamra said.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has ranked the Aadi Karmayogi campaign as the world’s largest grassroots tribal leadership programme. Based on the values of service, determination and dedication, this initiative is part of the government’s broader vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas”.
It will cover more than 1 lakh tribal dominated villages in 550 districts across 30 states and union territories, building on existing flagship programs such as Dharti Aaba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, PM Janman and National Sickle Cell Anemia Elimination Mission.
