New Delhi, October 8 (IANS) President Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to go on a three-day (October 9-11) official visit to Gujarat from Thursday. The visit will include spiritual engagement, interaction with tribal communities and participation in an academic convocation.
The President will reach Rajkot on the evening of October 9, marking the beginning of her tour across the state. Their itinerary includes visits to some of the most iconic religious and cultural sites of Gujarat as well as an important educational programme.
On October 10, President Murmu will start her day with a darshan and aarti at the iconic Somnath temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva and a major pilgrimage site.
After her spiritual engagement, she will head to Gir National Park, home to the Asiatic lions. At Sasan Gir, she will interact with members of the local tribal community and highlight her commitment towards inclusive development and cultural outreach.
Continuing his spiritual journey, the President will visit the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka on October 11. This temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, is an important site in the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit and holds immense religious significance.
Later that day, she will travel to Ahmedabad to attend the 71st convocation of Gujarat Vidyapeeth, the university founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920 to promote Indian education and values.
President Murmu’s visit underlines his dedication to connecting with diverse communities and institutions across India. His presence at the convocation ceremony of Gujarat Vidyapeeth is expected to inspire students and teachers alike, emphasizing the importance of value-based education and national service.
The yatra is being seen as a mix of cultural reverence, environmental awareness and educational promotion. This reflects the President’s multidimensional approach to leadership, combining tradition with progress and outreach with inspiration.
