Assembly elections will be held in Delhi in a few months. The election committee has started preparations. The Election Commission has started a special round-up to prepare the electoral rolls for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi.

How do I check the names in the electoral roll?

There are several ways to check your name in the electoral roll. The draft electoral roll is available on the Delhi CEO website www.ceodelhi.gov.in.

You can check the names online by visiting the Election Commission website electoralsearch.eci.gov.in. You can also check your name on the Voter Helpline mobile app. People with disabilities can check their names on the ‘Saksham App’. Apart from this, you can also call the helpline 1950 to check your name.

What if there is no name?

A press release issued by the Delhi Chief Executive said people who have attained the age of 18 years before January 1, 2025, can register their names in the electoral roll. For this purpose, form 6 must be completed.

Apart from this, people residing in Delhi and turning 18 years of age before April 1, July 1 and October 1, 2025 can also add their names through Form-6.

If you need to add or change something in your EPIC card (i.e. voter card), you can do it by filling Form-8.

All claims and objections can be filed by visiting the Election Commission website voters.eci.gov.in. But all this must be done before November 28th. Only then can you vote in the assembly elections in Delhi next year.

Voter ID alone is not enough

It is generally believed that you can only vote if you have a voter ID card. But voter ID alone is not enough. To vote in an election, a voter’s name must appear on the final electoral list.
