‘Preity Zinta cooked Paranthas for me’: Former England star ‘eternally grateful’ for PBKS boss’ gesture | Cricket News

The IPL not only brings together the best cricketing talent from around the world but is also a melting pot of celebrities from different walks of life. Over the years, team owners have received as much attention as cricket stars. Preity Zinta is one of the celebrity team owners of Kings XI Punjab. She has been seen in the stadiums where Kings XI Punjab plays. To support her team, co-owner Preeti Zinta was present in the stands at the Mullanpur Stadium during the recent match between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals.

Former England cricketer Ravi Bopara, who played for Punjab, shared an interesting anecdote about Preity Zinta.

“Those were the early days of IPL, it was a party, it was a great time,” Bopara said on FanCode’s IPL show ‘The Super Over’.

Preity Zinta, co-owner of Punjab Kings, had said last year that she had made 120 aloo paranthas for her team during the 2009 IPL in South Africa, when the team was called Kings XI Punjab.

“Who would have thought that Preity Zinta would make aloo paranthas for her team? I think they have stopped eating aloo parantha since then,” the anchor asked Preity on Star Sports. Harbhajan Singh also stood there and started laughing.

“For the first time I realized, how much you kids are eating! We were in South Africa and the parantha in the hotel was not being served very well. Then I told them, ‘I’ll teach you how to make aloo parantha’. And boy They asked me if I could make aloo paranthas for them too. I told them that if they win the next game, I will make aloo paranthas. They won. Then I made 120 aloo paranthas for the team. After that I made Got 120 aloo paranthas. Stop doing aloo,” Preeti replied with a smile.

Harbhajan Singh heard the news and said, “Irfan alone can eat 20 aloo paranthas.”

“My first IPL was in 2009, which was played in South Africa. Apart from winning and scoring the highest score, my favorite moment was when Preity Zinta made paratha for me. She made it with her own hands. She Say: “What do you want for breakfast? “I said ‘aloo parathas’ and she said ‘no problem’. I am forever grateful for that gesture,” he added.

After a win over Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab (PBKS) put up a strong fight but lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by four wickets at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday. RCB restricted Kings XI Punjab to 176/6 before chasing their target in 19.2 overs.
However, Kings XI Punjab spinner Harpreet Brar shone on the night with a brilliant bowling performance of 2/13.Talking about his performance, Brar said as per a PBKS press release, “I tried to keep the runs as dry as possible and in the process I picked up two wickets as well. I tried to bowl Put as many dot balls as possible to put pressure on the batsmen. Dot balls will eventually give you wickets.” Inputs with ANI
