Anil Chauhan, head of defense staff (CDS), has emphasized the need to prioritize the coordination in three services to rapid adaptation to disruptive technologies, rethink heritage structures and deal with the challenges emanating from the constant developing nature of war.
He was delivering the main speech in the opening edition of the annual Trident Lecture Series organized by the Center for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJWS) to mark his Foundation Day at Manexashow Center, Delhi Cantt at Delhi Cantt on 05 August 2025.
He underlined the importance of technical convergence and integrated operations to ensure national security in today’s time.
The event brought senior defense leadership, strategic thinkers and scholars together to reflect on the theme ‘Dominate the future’. The Ministry of Defense said that it also saw the formal release of General Bipin Rawat paper first on manned teaming, which said his permanent heritage in shaping India’s first CD and his permanent heritage in shaping the joint operational philosophy and transformative defense thinking.
Synergy, the August 2025 points of the Synergy, the Cenjos Flagship Journal, were also launched, including clear articles on emerging strategic trends.
As part of the event, the head of integrated defense employees gave a lecture on the ‘urgency in Tri-Services Reforms’, which outlines the important deadline and institutional steps required for meaningful improvement. The Deputy Chief of Integrated Defense Staff (Doctrine, Organization and Training) gave a lecture on the Indian Heritage Statecraft in ‘Future Warfighting’, in which it was investigated how indigenous decent knowledge could inform modern military thinking.
The lecture chain serves as an annual platform for significant reflection, strategic foresight and policy innovation, aimed at addressing the developed dynamics of war and national defense. (AI)
