Possibility of J&K assembly session in Srinagar in mid -September: Report

Srinagar, Aug 4 (KDC) Official sources indicated that the Legislative Assembly session of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to be convened in Srinagar in mid -September, with an expected period of 7 to 8 seating in about 10 days, the official sources indicated.

According to a report in Daily excelsierThe session should be held in line with the rules of the process before 9 October, which suggests that the assembly is found at least once every six months. The last full budget session was postponed on 9 April, followed by a special one -day session on 28 April, claiming 26 civilian lives in view of the Pahgam terror attack, which included 25 tourists and one local.

The report said that the final decision to call the session rests with the government, it should be formally conveyed to the Lieutenant Governor, which then issues notification to call the House. Before the government moved to Jammu in the first week of November, a proposal to schedule the session in mid -September has been allegedly looted.

Unlike previous sessions, it is expected to focus primarily on legislative business. During the last budget session held in Jammu between 3 March and 9 April (except 10-day holidays), only one bill-vast and service tax (GST) led by Umar Abdullah led and passed and passed.

This upcoming session can see the introduction of additional bills, and one day each will be allocated to private members bills and resolutions. During the previous session, these days, opposing the Waqf Bill passed by Parliament, was lost among the disruption by the legislators.

Questions starring are debated during the question of questions, while un-starred people only receive written answers.

After officially confirming the period of the session, the number of bills and resolutions of private members will be finalized by the speaker.

While Parliament and most of the state assemblies usually conduct three sessions-Budgudi, monsoon, and winter-Jammu and Kashmir have followed two-seven exercises for years: a budget session in Jammu and a brief session in Srinagar. This tradition aligns with the bipolar movement of government offices between the two capitals.

Although in 2021, the physical move of the Civil Secretariat between Jammu and Srinagar was closed, the present government led by Omar Abdullah has promised to restore the Durbar Chalak tradition.
