Itanagar, Nov 1 (IANS) The Indian Army, Navy and Air Force will converge in the rugged mountains of Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh for exercise ‘East Prachanda Prahar’, a tri-service display of integrated combat capability, technical optimization and operational synergy in the eastern theatre, officials said on Saturday.
Defense spokesperson Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said that conceived as a visionary exercise, it will validate multi-domain integration on land, air and sea fronts, reflecting the increased preparedness of the Indian armed forces for future conflicts.
The objective of the exercise, he said, is to refine interoperability, enhance situational awareness and validate command and control structures for joint mission execution.
The spokesperson said the highlight of the exercise will be the coordinated employment of special forces, unmanned platforms, precision systems and networked operations centers that will work together in realistic high altitude conditions.
Revised tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) will be tested and validated to strengthen combat agility and adaptability.
After the successful conduct of Purva Bhala Prahar (2023) and Purva Purva Prachhar (2024), Exercise ‘East Prachanda Prahar’ is the next milestone in India’s tri-service integration effort.
This strengthens the collective resolve of the armed forces to maintain mission readiness and joint operational effectiveness in defense of the nation, Lt Col Rawat said.
On the other hand, promoting the vision of a greener, fitter and sustainable India, the Pedal to Plant Expedition 2025, a pan-India cycling initiative dedicated to environmental sustainability, fitness and green living, was formally flagged off from Pangsau Pass in Arunachal Pradesh.
The campaign will travel across the country and end in Gujarat on December 31. Lt Col Rawat said that this unique initiative under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is being led by Nisha Kumari, an eminent para-cyclist, Everest climber and national achiever.
The campaign aims to plant one lakh saplings across India while promoting the message of a greener, healthier and better nation through active citizen participation.
Immediately after the flag hoisting ceremony, the first phase of the tree plantation drive was carried out in Jairampur, Arunachal Pradesh.
Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles flagged off the cycling expedition from Pangsau Pass along with local dignitaries from Jairampur.
In a strong display of military-civilian cooperation, soldiers of Assam Rifles also participated in the cycling event, strengthening the shared commitment towards national development and environmental responsibility.
The ‘Pedal to Plant’ initiative pays tribute to the great freedom fighter and Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary.
The campaign embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideals of unity and strength while reflecting his vision of Fit India, which inspires citizens to adopt active, healthy and sustainable lifestyles.
