Police uses facial identification system to identify OGW in Anantnag

Especially in an important development ahead of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (Sanji -2025), the facial identification system (FRS) posted by District Police Anantnag in Langanbal Naka detected an over -ground worker (OGW) at around 1700 pm today.

A police spokesperson said, a former FIR registered in 2005 was working as a carpenter, a resident of Sir Hamdan (Police Station Mattan Jurisdiction). He was later handed over to the police station Pahgam for further legal action.

This swift interception highlights the impact of technology -operating policing and send a clear preventive message to the miscreants as the approach of Sanji -2025. District Police Anantnag has already enhanced electronic monitoring with all Yatra Access Corridors to ensure a safe and easy pilgrimage experience. Any person who attempts to disrupt public system ends the safety of pilgrims – whether it will be rapidly identified and dealt with under the law.
