Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday took cognizance of false information campaign in Srinagar district.
It is firmly learned from reliable sources that some news channels and media outlets are systematically posting incorrect information through their respective media publications and channels and making a deliberate effort to interrupt unrest and peace and public system in a deliberate attempt, including social media platforms through electronic medium.
The materials under consideration include fabricated stories and perverted, rejected facts, which indulge in a significant risk of inciting disagreement and disagreement among people, and probably provoke individuals to do harmful work to the nation’s peace, security and integrity.
In its light, Srinagar police has initiated legal action by registering FIR No. 17/2025 U/S 197 (1) (D), 353 (1) (B), and 353 (2) in the case of Indian Judge (BNS) at Police Station Shargari.
The investigation of this case is currently underway.
The Srinagar police urged all citizens, media organizations and social media users to avoid spreading inconvenient or sensitive information.
