A police force says it is investigating a widely circulated video in which an officer was seen telling a man to be a “little shit that mate”.

The officer is seen in the video asking, “Do you have a problem?”, before adding: “You just… want to video people… that’s a bit of nonsense mate.”
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said they would provide a further update following a review.
Posting on X, Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that we have received a complaint regarding a video circulated on X and TikTok over the weekend.
“We maintain and expect the highest standards of conduct and values from all our officers and employees.
“As a review is ongoing by our Professional Standards department, comments on our posts have been temporarily disabled.
“Following review, we will provide further updates as appropriate.”
