Continuing its efforts to combat crime and ensure public security, the police successfully resolved a livestock theft case within a few hours of their incident and arrested two accused individuals involved in the commission of crime.
A spokesperson said that the police station’s Shopian received a written application from GH’s Muhammad Sultan Teli son. Qadir Teli, resident of Batpora, Shopian said that during the night of intervention of 30/06/2025, some unknown persons stole livestock (a cow) from their residence’s yard, almost Rs. 1 lakh. Accordingly, a case video FIR number 146/2025 was registered with the police station shopkeeper under the relevant sections of the law and investigation was initiated.
While working immediately, a special team was formed to investigate the matter. Due to timely action and effective investigation, the stolen livestock was recovered within hours, besides two accused individuals involved in the theft were also arrested. He has been identified as Altaf Mushtaq Ghani (Alsura), son of Mushkak Ahmed Ghani, a resident of Mushtaq Ahmed Gani and GH’s son Shukat Ahmed Malik. Nabi Malik of Arha Shopian.
