Drivers Warned to expect An hour’s delay As M42 is closed In both directions due to a police incident.

National highways warned people on the road on Thursday morning that the construction of traffic continued.
He said, “M42 in West Midlands is closed in both directions between J4 (Shirley) and J5 (Solihul) due to a police -led incident.
“The delay is constructing in both directions – a crowd of about 3 miles in both ways, M40 northwards and back to the south to A45 Birmingham Airport.”
West Midlands Police said on X: “Events: We are currently working with an event on Junction 4 and 5 in Solihul. Motorway is currently closed in both directions.”
Birmingham Airport also warned those expecting to fly to leave extra time to catch their flight.
The airport said on X, “Please be aware and allow additional for your journey from the airport.”
Drivers have been advised to follow diversion symbols on road signals. For those going north, they will exit the M42 on Junction Four, and will be left on A34. After the signals, they will eventually return to the junction five roundabouts at M42.
Southbound drivers will follow the same route in reverse.
