In Kupwara, the police arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and solved the case of theft. The stolen property including cash and jewelery has also been recovered from his possession.
A spokesperson said, “On 21/08/2025, a written complaint was received from AB Rashid Mughal, son of Mohammad Saliman Mughal, who was a resident of Warno Lolb, stating that during the night of 16/17 July 2025, during the night of intervention, unknown thieves stopped their homes and stolen cash and golden jewelery.”
Accordingly, FIR no under the relevant sections of law in PS LalPora. A case of 47/2025 Video No. 47/2025 was recorded and investigation was started.
During the investigation, several suspects were called and completely questioned. With continuous efforts and professional investigation, two suspects were identified as Mohammad Younis Hazam and Mohammad Aslam Chechi of Bagu Chechi, both Lolab’s residents acknowledged their participation in the commission of crime. After their disclosure, the stolen property in which the cash amount was recovered from ₹ 95,000/- and a golden ring from their possession.
Both the accused persons have been arrested and further investigation in the case is going on.
