York police say that a person is in the hospital after an officer shot by an officer during a traffic stop in Scarborough on Thursday evening.
Officials say they were following a suspected stolen vehicle in the area of Kennedy Road and Clayton Drive.
When the authorities tried to stop the vehicle near Kennedy Road and Bonis Avenue, an officer discharged his gun, and shot the man inside the vehicle. According to the police, there was no one else in the car.
The first therapy was administered at the scene, and the man was taken to a trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The complete sequence of incidents is still being investigated,” York Regional Police told Citynues.
