Working on the recent instructions issued by the Home Department, Jammu and Kashmir government, District Police Pulwama launched an inspection campaign in the district targeting bookstore and establishments working in printed material.
The purpose of the exercise was to verify compliance with official orders related to the prohibition of some publications known as divisive materials, false stories or extremist ideologies. Teams from various police stations investigated to ensure that such banned literature was neither stocked nor operated.
All booksellers were clearly instructed to avoid stocking or distributing any material that could potentially endanger public harmony or national security.
The district police is dedicated to preserving Pulwama peace and preventing the spread of radical or illegal materials. Citizens are encouraged to be vigilant and report any such example to law enforcement officers without any delay.
