A devastating fire broke out this evening, which took place in a mosque Sharif located in the police colony, Qamrawari, causing a complete damage to the structure.
According to officials, the Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters received a distress call in 17:05 hours, after which the fire tender was sent in 17:06 hours. The fire tenders from F&E headquarters, fire station Safa Kadal and Fire Station Sh Pora were immediately deployed in the scene.
Despite the quick response and joint efforts of all fire fighting stations, the intensity of the explosion resulted in the total destruction of the mosque building.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and the investigation is underway.
