Police attachs property of notorious drug pedal under the NDPS Act in Hardwara

In a major action against drug trafficking, the police in Handwara have attached assets worth millions related to a notorious drug pedal under the provisions of the drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act.

A spokesperson said that while acting under Section 68-F with the NDPS Act, the police station Handwara was a resident of Khunbal Handwada, a resident of Abdul Razak Sophie, a resident of Javed Ahmed Sophie, along with two commercial shops, as well as the land located in the main market Handwara. The case was again number 193/2024 U/s 8/21 In connection with the police station Handwara of the NDPS Act, the attachment was carried out in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1 Class Handwara.

Initial investigation has revealed that the said property was acquired through income generated from illegal drug trade. The case registered at the accused police station Handwara is also included in the case of FIR No. 266/2022 U/S8/21 NDPS Act.

This action is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to target and destroy the financial infrastructure of drug smugglers by targeting and seizing illegally acquired assets. The police are committed to strict enforcement of the NDPS Act and ensure that people involved in drug trafficking face the entire weight of the law.
