A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in the city’s King Street West neighborhood, which left two people with deadly injuries.
Toronto police say the shooting took place in King Street West and Sudbari Street area around 2:42 pm on August 8.
According to the investigators, a group of friends were running in the area when a person dropped him in the past, almost going on strike. Police alleged that the suspect circled back, shouted in the group, and then later faced him again.
As the group tried to move away, the police say the suspect waited for them at the end of a lanway, took out a gun, and set fire. Several rounds were discharged before the suspect escaped.
Both a man and a woman were shot in their 30s, and rushed to the hospital with life-threatening.
Police say they arrested 32 -year -old NYIM Alexander on August 12. He faced several allegations, including:
- In four cases of attempt to murder,
- Two counts of increased attack,
- Unauthorized occupation of a stuffed banned gun,
- To capture a motor vehicle with a gun, and
- Capture a gun opposite an prohibition order
Alexander appeared in the court the same day at the Toronto Regional Bail Center.
