Peel police say they have arrested a 20-year-old Brampton man in a conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Investigators say the incident happened around 1 a.m. on Dec. 27 in the area of Chinguacousy and Drinkwater Road.
Authorities say the victim exited a transit bus when an unknown man followed him. Then, the suspect allegedly approached the victim and told them he had a gun.
The victim contacted the police and authorities and the accused were present at a short distance.
Police say that during this conversation, the suspect threw an “imitation firearm” into a pile of snow.
As a result, Jagdeep Singh, 20, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

At the time of his arrest, Singh also reportedly had a backpack containing bundles of rope, rolls of tape, gloves and two knives.
Singh’s bail hearing was pending.
