Police are investigating after a man and woman aged in their 70s were found dead at a house in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Police said officers were called to reports at 1pm on Saturday that two bodies had been found at a property in Catalina Place, Mel Park.

They were pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m.

staffordshire Police said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.

“At this stage we do not believe there is a wider threat or risk to the community.”

The names of the man and woman have not been released.
